01 / MAKE THE ESTIMATE REPRODUCIBLE
A weight alone does not describe the shipment.
The official Superbuy estimator includes USA as a destination and asks for warehouse, weight in grams, length/width/height in centimetres and item category. Its FAQ describes volumetric weight and route-specific weight limits.
Our comparison method is to keep these inputs with the result. Label a guessed dimension as an assumption. If a packing change alters the estimate, save both versions so you can explain what changed. Follow the chosen route’s charging method rather than applying a universal cost per kilogram.
| Field | What to record |
|---|---|
| Destination | The actual US delivery location and any address limitation to confirm. |
| Contents | The exact items, quantities and any restriction flags shown for them. |
| Packing | Warehouse, weight, three dimensions and whether each input is estimated or measured. |
| Quoted option | Route name, date, currency, included charges and unresolved amounts. |
Before combining items, get clarification on anything the available route cannot accept. The estimator’s destination list is a starting point, not confirmation that every listing or parcel can use every US line.
02 / DATE THE CUSTOMS INFORMATION
Do not reuse the old $800 duty-free assumption.
CBP’s 8 July 2026 international-mail notice reports an indefinite regulatory suspension of the de minimis exemption for imports valued at $800 or less arriving through the international postal network. It also describes a new postal informal entry process effective 24 July 2026. The notice’s general $2,500-or-less scope concerns eligible informal mail entries; it is not a duty-free allowance.
The background in the 8 October 2026 Federal Register notice references separate June rules for postal and non-postal shipments. The October document is a proposed rule, not proof that its proposed new requirements are already in force.
For your chosen route, ask who handles import entry, which charges the quote includes and which information you must provide. Establish whether its import arrangement is postal or non-postal before applying mail guidance. Keep the answer with the route terms; a transport label alone cannot answer these questions.
Use the applicable official guidance and the carrier’s explanation for the actual goods. We do not assign a single US duty rate to clothing or shoes, calculate your tax bill or infer an exemption from a “tax-free” route name.
03 / COMPARE THE SAME PARCEL
Keep price, timing and coverage in separate fields.
Compare two options using the same contents, destination and packing assumptions. If you change all three along with the route, a lower number will not tell you which choice produced the difference. Record a packing alternative separately when you want to compare it.
For each option, make three notes: what you pay now, what may remain payable later, and what still needs clarification. Include optional services only when selected. Keep the purchase-stage amounts separate from the parcel amount with the complete-cost guide.
Superbuy’s forwarding guide distinguishes an international-shipping deposit based on estimates from the final charge based on verified package size and weight. We use that delivery distinction here; forwarding registration is separate from shopping-agent purchasing.
Ask how a quoted time is measured: from submission, dispatch or a later handover, and whether it is an estimate or a commitment. Then read the insurance terms for the exact option: covered events, exclusions, value limit, evidence and claim deadline. An insurance label is not enough to establish that a customs event or the full item value is covered.
04 / LEAVE A CLEAR RECORD
Resolve the missing detail before the next step.
Keep the selected source options and your own warehouse-photo checks with your order. For the parcel, save the final contents, packing choice, measured information, selected line and charge breakdown. Note any open question rather than marking it confirmed.
After dispatch, record the tracking reference and the latest dated event in your own notes. If you need help, give the agent the parcel reference and the event you want explained through its official account support. Avoid guessing an arrival date from someone else’s parcel history.
This checklist is a way to organise your comparison. It is not a completed shipment test, a carrier recommendation or a promise of customs release.
WHEN THE PARCEL NEEDS YOUR RESPONSE
Match a document or payment request to the actual parcel.
Open the carrier’s official tracking or recipient service directly and confirm the parcel number, latest event and any response deadline. Save the notice before paying or sending documents. A domestic seller tracking number is not the same as the international or US last-mile reference.
For a document request, keep the item invoice, accurate descriptions, quantities and payment record together. Ask the party handling the entry which document or field is missing. If a charge is requested, obtain its breakdown and compare it with the import amounts included in your saved route quote. Resolve the named discrepancy with that responsible party.
Keep the response, receipt and new tracking event with the parcel. Our order-status and tracking article helps separate the stages; it does not replace the carrier’s or customs authority’s instructions for your goods.
THE QUICK ANSWERS
Before choosing a US line.
How much does a 4–5kg Superbuy parcel cost to the USA?
There is no live quote on this page. Add the packed dimensions, item category, warehouse and destination to the weight, then compare the available routes and included charges. Keep the estimate dated and separate from the final bill.
Does a tax-free line mean there are no import charges?
Ask what is included and how import entry and charges are handled for your goods. Do not use a route name as an exemption or customs-release guarantee. The current official-source discussion is in the import check.
Does insurance cover a customs seizure?
We have not verified coverage for a specific line or policy. Read its current covered events, exclusions, payout limit and claim requirements, and get clarification on the event you are concerned about before selecting it.
